Rok Státků

The nine-part STÁTKY series is entering the second half of its year-long program. Together with the creative teams, we'll present the upcoming autumn events and look back at those already held.

Significant Days

Historian Václav Kaška will speak at Klub zastupitelů about a set of twenty significant days of the Czech Republic which, unlike state holidays, are not non-working days. In his work, Kaška specializes in contemporary history, the history of communism in Czechoslovakia, and the didactics of history teaching.

mappa release party

The release party also marks ten years of publishing and organizing activity by the Slovak label mappa. Katov Syn(th) and Tomáš Knoflíček, two musicians who contributed to the Synthetic Water Music compilation, will perform live in the courtyard of Klub zastupitelů, in dialogue with the fountain and the sculptural work of Jiří Marek.

Synthetic Water Music is the second of three compilations, following on from the Synthetic Bird Music album, timed to mark mappa's 10th anniversary. As with the birds, this one brings together friends of the label — artists who have previously released music with mappa or performed at its concerts. Most of the music is new, created specifically for this compilation, with a large share coming from creators based in Central and Eastern Europe.

Katov Syn(th)
A solo project by Slovak artist, musician, and multi-instrumentalist Dominik Novák, in which he combines field recording, ambient, and modular synthesizers.

Tomáš Knoflíček
Curator, musician, and sound experimenter Tomáš Knoflíček, best known for his work with the group Gurun Gurun, works in his solo output with a combination of processed field recordings, electronics, and acoustic instruments.

Curatorial team: Matyáš Dlab, Anna Prstková, Libor Brzobohatý
Project coordination: Kristýna Businská
Event hosts: Zuzana Fuksová, Samčo, brother of the earthworms

The series is developed as a project by Terén in collaboration with the independent theatre Divadlo 3+kk. The projects were selected through an Open Call held in autumn 2025.
