Selection process for the leadership of Terén for the 2028–2030 term.

Centrum experimentálního divadla announces a selection process for the leadership of Terén, a platform for contemporary live art.

Centrum experimentálního divadla has announced an open call for the artistic and managerial leadership of the contemporary live arts platform Terén for the 2028–2030 term. Alongside Divadlo Husa na provázku and HaDivadlo, Terén is one of the three Brno-based theatre venues operating under the umbrella of the Centre for Experimental Theatre. Applications, including all required materials, may be submitted until 11 September 2026.

Terén is a dramaturgical and production platform for theatre and interdisciplinary art that was established in 2019 as the third entity of the Centre for Experimental Theatre. Until the end of 2027, the platform is led by Matyáš Dlab and Kristýna Businská. Terén operates without a permanent ensemble or fixed venue. Throughout the year, it presents theatre productions and performances in Brno, organizes music events and special programmes, and has realized numerous successful site-specific projects, interdisciplinary events, and tours across the Czech Republic and abroad. In 2025, Terén received two nominations for the Ceny Thálie for its projects.

Centrum experimentálního divadla is seeking new artistic and managerial leadership for Terén, with the new term beginning in 2028. “We are looking for an original vision for the future direction of the Terén platform that will bring new perspectives and approaches to theatre and performance. Terén offers unique opportunities for artistic creation, while shaping its future direction also represents a major challenge,” says Jan Búrik, director of the Centre for Experimental Theatre.

The Centrum experimentálního divadla (CED) is a publicly funded cultural institution established by the City of Brno. CED is the operating organization responsible for the activities and outcomes of Divadlo Husa na provázku, HaDivadlo, and Terén. It supports their autonomous artistic work and only exceptionally presents its own programmes, primarily of a professional or educational nature.

More detailed information about the selection process is available on the CED website. For serious applicants, CED also offers consultation days with representatives of the organization as well as the current leadership of Terén. The deadline for submitting applications, including all required materials, is 11 September 2026.
